Homemade Sunflower seed butter!

In our home we can’t allow peanut butter or any nut butters to enter the door. Lelo is deathly allergic to them and the risk outweighs the treat. So we discovered sunflower seed butter!  Its so tasty  (if you have the right one ) that we have a constant issue keeping it in stock!  Its also spendy; Target and Trader Joes price it at $4.99 but Safeway which is accross the street prices it at an incredible  $7.99 !!!! Wow thats quite a profit.

So today,  like many days we polished off our jar of store bought Sunflower seed butter. I have had a bag of hulled, raw sunflower seeds that i had been using for granola. But today i took the leap and tried it! ! And i successfully made sunflower seed butter! ! It took like 5 minutes! !

Grab your food processor and lets do this!!

1 cup roasted sunflower seeds  (to roast raw seeds lay flat in tray, place in oven for 15 minutes for 350 degrees)

3-4Tbsp of Honey or Corn Syrup

Olive oil, coconut oil 3-4 Tbsp

Pour together; blend until its smooth as you prefer it. You may need to add a few drops of water if it turns into a ball of butter.

Refrigerate and enjoy!
